A mountaintop neighborhood built on community.

Brow Wood is a 160-acre, master-planned community located on beautiful and historic Lookout Mountain, Georgia. Our community provides low-maintenance living choices in a breathtakingly beautiful setting for empty nesters and active adults.

Brow Wood's goal is to maintain a quality neighborhood that fosters true health among its residents by providing opportunities for mental, physical, social and spiritual stimulation, as well as excellent health care options.

In addition to the beautiful natural amenities, Brow Wood is conveniently located one mile south of Covenant College, a vibrant liberal arts college, and adjacent to Thrive, a state-of-the-art assisted living facility.

Located a short, 20-minute drive from downtown Chattanooga, Brow Wood offers the serenity of relaxed mountain living with the convenience of downtown culture and activities.

Views nothing short of breathtaking.

Different places call them different things. In Arkansas, they call them ”bluffs.“ Along the Appalachian Mountains, people call them ”cliffs.“ But on Lookout Mountain folks have given them a different name. Up here, we call them the “brow.“

Currently, there are nine brow lots available for purchase along the western edge of Brow Wood and 23 ”Brow View“ lots available across the street. Each option gives you the opportunity to build the Custom Home of your dreams by Arthur Rutenberg Homes.

Far more than your next home.

Arthur Rutenberg Homes is the designer and builder of the home plans for the lovely Brow View side of Brow Wood. Brow View lots offer nearby views of the western brow of Lookout Mountain. Floorplans for our Brow View homes are both spacious and cozy—a perfect environment for down-sizing or a second mountaintop home.

We also offer Custom Home design and building services to accommodate any home plan within the Architectural Guidelines of Brow Wood. Custom Homes can be built on both the Brow and Brow View sides of the community. Brow Wood offers design consultation with Arthur Rutenberg Homes, which is the preferred builder.

Brow Wood is a vibrant neighborhood with a sense of purpose. We give you more than just an active lifestyle development for retired and soon-to-be-retired homeowners. Living here are professors, physicians, fitness enthusiasts, financial advisors, corporate managers and bluegrass fans, each of whom make their own unique contributions to our the community.

Brow Wood also comes with its share of convenient amenities that make life both active, relaxed and entertaining. From the beginning, our vision was to create a community that enjoyed the surrounding communities and activities.

Brow Wood rests along the western edge of Lookout Mountain, Georgia. The community is part of the Cumberland Plateau and has an elevation of more than 2,000 feet above sea level. Our neighborhood blends cool breezes and the natural outdoors with the comfort and familiarity of a close-knit community.

No one is a stranger at Brow Wood where afternoons and evenings are often spent watching the sunset from the Pavilion or spending time in long conversations around the dinner table. At Brow Wood, we believe a true community shouldn't be gated or fenced in. It should seamlessly meld into its surroundings and reflect the needs and personalities of the neighborhood.

Feel free to contact us and schedule a visit to Brow Wood. We would love to introduce ourselves and show you around the neighborhood!
